The plateau itself is magnificent. Perhaps one of Turkey’s most striking mountain pastures. It stretches over a wide area, just below the tree line. The houses here are perched on small mounds, as if they needed a better view of the snow-covered peaks that surround them. The landscape is breathtaking. The guest house is of course wooden. It is simple but pretty. The owners are particularly hospitable. In the evenings, raki flows and inspires long conversations and plenty of singing. In the morning, you wake up to the twitter of birds and the mooing of cows. Access isn’t easy, but the guest house has its own vehicle. Visitors can be picked up in Çamlıhemşin. You hold your breath and keep in mind that that they have done the difficult journey many times. |
